As part of an attachment to Phnom Penh international school, concept was developed to service pre-school students.
Climates in Southern Cambodia required plenty of shading from the hot afternoon sun, as well as shielding from flash rainfalls frequently occuring during rain season around May and June.
The form was created as reference to an egg, where young students interact, learn, play within a protective shell.
The shell boundary is made by steel cylinder posts, strategically placed at irregular intervals, and gapped according to circulation and visual utility;
gaps were made smaller in areas to prevent individuals from physically crossing over the boundary, or were widened to form doorways and windows.
The design and construction method is utilized to match the proficiency level of the local labor force.
