The expansion and update of the Chengdu store, continues the paying-of-homage with Burberry’s history, manifested through a contemporary lens to spotlight the label’s iconic cotton-gabardine trench coat. Whilst adhering to strict Design and Fit-Out standards of Burberry London, there was an opportunity to vary and add a tinge of new flavors.
‘The Chengdu expansion store, seeks to find balance between the design language between the greater macro environment interior and the micro store interior, art and artisan spirit, culture and people move through intelligent and elegant modernity becomes even more prominent,’ says C.Huang.
Flowing and weaving of interior gestures, the Chengdu venue was strategically placed at a junction point near the facade, in which these characteristics may translate and engage well with the existing store design concept language.
The play upon the brand’s storied heritage continues, while remaining attractive enough to a young generation of shoppers, with its atmosphere reflecting a fine balance between traditional retail and sleek concept shop.
