The design continues to Beijing, an echo of Suzhou’s and Hanghou’s store concepts, and the homage continues with Burberry’s history, manifested through a contemporary lens to spotlight the label’s iconic cotton-gabardine trench coat. Whilst adhering to strict Design and Fit-Out standards of Burberry London, there was an opportunity to vary and add a tinge of new flavors.
‘The focus of Beijing’s retail store, a home where art, culture and people move through intelligent and elegant modernity becomes even more prominent, especially art and the artisan spirit,’ says C.Huang.
The shift between in methodology becomes a merging between the main display and artwork display. With unimpeded visual corridors from outer public circulation. The end point, crossing between internal key circulatory path, showcasing contemporary artwork in an ever-changing gallery environment for which to display Burberry’s collections, with strategically placed mil work cabinets and jewel display cases for merchandising.
The play upon the brand’s storied heritage continues, while remaining attractive enough to a young generation of shoppers, with its atmosphere reflecting a fine balance between traditional retail and sleek concept shop.
